The story behind Velo Femme

Hi 👋, my name is Noa.

I have been in the cycling world since 1993, racing bikes from age 12 and have faced many challenges as an athlete and in the last ~20 years, as an industry professional. Velo Femme started because women have been under represented in the bike industry for decades. Visibility matters, and it is time for change.

The representation gap goes beyond the industry itself, it affects female cyclists too. Female cyclists have been struggling to find bike fitters who understand their needs and really listen. As more women ride bikes, we need more women working within the industry also, catering to women without unnecessary fluff.

I built this female bike fitter directory as a solution to the visibility problem. While I think both women and men can choose to work with a fitter they trust regardless of their gender, I want cyclists to find female fitters easily, if they choose to. I also want other women to see they have space to pursue a career within the industry if they want to.

The resource area is designed to provide inspiration, support and education for all women who ride bikes and female industry professionals alike.
